CRC is supporting every aspect of this project. CRC is a long-standing energy operator in Kern County, and its carbon management subsidiary, Carbon TerraVault (CTV), is operating the first Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project in Elk Hills.
CRC brings deep local experience, existing energy infrastructure, and a successful track record of delivering community benefits to Kern County, which differentiates the Golden Valley project from many of the proposed data center projects across the country. As of May 2026, CRC employs over 1,100 people who live and work in the communities surrounding this project.
Beacon is a North American digital infrastructure company, focused on building, owning and operating data centers that are integrated with energy resources from the outset.
With more than 10 campuses representing 6.0 GW in development, their approach is to identify sites where power, land, and connectivity can come together in a way that is reliable, scalable, and responsible. This creates long-term trust with customers, partners, and communities and delivers value to all.
Together, the partnership between Beacon and CRC builds on an established industrial energy site launching a new chapter in the storied history of Elk Hills.
